Located in the centre of
Edinburghs New Town (built from 1790 to 1840) next
to Charlotte Square, Glenfinlas Street is only a two minute walk from
Princes Street, Edinburghs main shopping street, which is overlooked
by Edinburgh Castle, scene of the annual Military Tattoo.
Nearby are the Georgian House in Charlotte Square, the Edinburgh International
Conference Centre and the financial sector.
Edinburghs famous International Festival and Edinburgh Fringe
are near neighbours during the summer.
The house is 30 minutes drive from the airport by taxi or airport bus.
There is an airport bus stop in Shandwick Place, approximately two minutes
walk away.
Waverley and Haymarket Stations are 10 - 20 minutes walk or 5 minutes
by taxi. The bus station is a 10 - 15 minutes walk.
We would advise anyone planning to hire a car not to do so until leaving
the city, as a car is more of a hindrance than a help in exploring Edinburgh.
Disabled orange badge holders may leave their cars in front of the house
for free. Otherwise parking is strictly regulated Monday - Saturday
from 08:30 to 18:30. Tickets can be bought from a street meter. We can also direct you to unmetered parking or to a 24
hour car park within ten minutes walk.
Please note: From 1 March 2008 until 31 July 2008, Shandwick Place will be closed due to roadworks, and alternative routes will be signposted. Please download a map of the diversions here.
